The University of Notre Dame football program will once again join forces with Under Armour in 2024 for the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ campaign, aimed at supporting five local charities.
During the team’s walk from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart to Notre Dame Stadium on September 21, 2024, prior to the Miami-Ohio game, each football student-athlete will wear special-edition Under Armour Slip Speed shoes. An online auction for these shoes will take place before and after the game, alongside custom cleats inspired by select Notre Dame football players, which will also be up for auction.
“We are excited about this initiative, and over the offseason and in previous years, we’ve developed strong relationships with these charities,” said graduate linebacker Jack Kiser, who chairs the player’s committee for the initiative. “After the success of Cleats For A Cause in 2022, it’s important for us to utilize our platform to raise awareness and funds for these organizations making a difference in our community.”
The ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative will benefit the South Bend Center for the Homeless, the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County, the Casie Center (Child Abuse Services Investigation & Education), Cultivate Food Rescue, and the Logan Center. Proceeds from the auction will be divided equally among the five charities, with each organization represented on the shoes worn by the players.
Throughout the offseason, Notre Dame football student-athletes have dedicated significant time to volunteering and partnering with the five local charities involved in this initiative.
All the shoes and cleats have been uniquely painted by Jerry Barca, a freshman at Notre Dame.
Further details regarding the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative will be announced in the coming weeks.
