McDonald’s is embracing nostalgia with the launch of a new adult Happy Meal featuring collectible cups that celebrate various keepsakes and characters from the chain’s past. Available starting today, the Collector’s Meal includes six unique cup designs that pay homage to previous iconic items, including the Cowpoke McNugget Buddy from 1988, the McDonald’s Dragster from 1993, and the Hello Kitty Crew Keychain from 2000.
The cup designs in the Collector’s Meal are as follows:
– Barbie & Hot Wheels
– Beanie Babies
– Coca-Cola
– Hello Kitty & Peanuts
– Shrek, Jurassic Park & Minions
– McDonald’s motifs, showcasing the Grimace Glass, Boo Buckets, and Funny Fry Friends
The Collector’s Meal is offered throughout the day and comes with the following meal options:
– A Sausage McMuffin with Egg, hash brown, and hot coffee during breakfast hours
– A choice of a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac with fries and a soft drink during lunch and dinner hours
In Indianapolis, the Big Mac and McNuggets versions of the meal have been priced at $11.58 each, although the meal was not available via the McDonald’s app in the area on Tuesday afternoon.
To enhance the experience, McDonald’s has introduced a Snapchat augmented reality feature that can be accessed by scanning the cup or visiting their Snapchat profile.
On August 17, McDonald’s will host a pair of in-person events, including a pool party with DJ performances and exclusive drinks inspired by the Collector’s Meal cups at Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, as well as a free ride on the Phoenix Roller Coaster at Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park at Coney Island, where a Collector’s Meal cup acts as a ticket.
This special meal is available for a limited time.
