ATLANTA — Residents in northern Georgia should prepare for a rainy Tuesday, as an unsettling weather pattern is set to impact the region.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect for Bartow, Carroll, Cherokee, Cobb, Coweta, Douglas, Floyd, Haralson, Heard, Paulding, and Polk counties until 8:30 a.m. This warning suggests that conditions could lead to hazardous weather, particularly for those in the affected areas.
Meteorologist Brian Monahan from Severe Weather Team 2 warns that multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are anticipated throughout the day. The morning will see the initial wave of heavy rain, with the most intense rainfall predicted north of I-20. The threat of isolated severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts or even a brief tornado remains a possibility.
Later in the day, as the cold front approaches, a more organized line of storms is forecasted, maintaining the risk of further severe weather. However, there is a silver lining as the weather is expected to improve significantly by Wednesday, allowing for a drier Thanksgiving.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated with real-time alerts via the WSB-TV Weather App and be prepared for wet conditions.
Expect cooler temperatures for Thanksgiving, with highs projected in the low 50s, providing a shift in weather as families gather to celebrate the holiday.
