After experiencing its coldest temperatures of the season on Monday morning, the North Texas region is set to witness a notable change in weather patterns this week. A trend of above-normal temperatures is anticipated, potentially persisting through the Christmas holiday.
By Saturday, temperatures at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport could rise as much as 20 degrees above what is typically seen this time of year. Following Monday’s chill, Tuesday is expected to serve as a transitional day with a high near 61 degrees. The morning may start off overcast; however, the cloud cover is predicted to decrease as the day progresses.
Midweek forecasts indicate that Wednesday and Thursday will see temperatures peaking around 67 degrees, which is approximately 10 degrees above the normal range for mid-December. Overnight temperatures will noticeably warm up as well, expected to range from the upper 40s to the mid-50s, providing a break from the recent cold snap.
However, this pattern is poised to shift Thursday evening when a cold front is predicted to move through the area. Temperatures will dip back into the upper 30s early Friday morning before another increase is expected.
