Authorities have determined that no confessions related to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were discovered in recordings seized from O.J. Simpson’s former bodyguard, Iroc Avelli. Bloomington police reported to TMZ that their investigation revealed the materials consisted largely of Avelli talking to himself, containing no relevant evidence implicating Simpson.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) had requested Bloomington police to investigate multiple thumb drives that they thought might hold crucial confessional audio from Simpson. However, after an exhaustive examination, the Bloomington police concluded they “did not locate any information of evidentiary value,” according to a statement obtained by FOX 9 News.

The probe began when officer George Harms sought a court order to conduct a forensic analysis of these thumb drives, documenting that the materials could potentially show evidence of a crime. This warrant was initiated during an investigation into an unrelated assault that occurred in Bloomington, during which a backpack containing ammunition and other items was seized. Avelli was subsequently charged in connection with that incident.

In June 2024, Harms was informed by the LAPD that Avelli and his legal counsel had claimed a recording inside the seized backpack featured Simpson confessing to the infamous murders. Following this lead, Det. Mojarro from the LAPD requested Harms to search the green backpack for the necessary thumb drives. While Harms has successfully located them, the contents remain unknown at this time.

The murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman on June 12, 1994, remain a focal point in American legal history. Simpson was quickly identified as a suspect, leading to the notorious low-speed chase broadcasted live on television. Despite being charged with the murders, he was ultimately acquitted in a highly publicized trial, and no further convictions have occurred in connection with the case.

In summary, while the recent investigation did not yield the hoped-for findings, it showcases the persistence of law enforcement to uncover the truth. With these thumb drives now in-hand, there is still potential for new developments that could shed light on the long-standing mysteries surrounding this tragic case, offering the hope of justice for the victims and their families.
