NKOTB Takes Vegas: Four Decades of Music in a Stunning Residency

New Kids on the Block Launch Spectacular Residency in Las Vegas, Celebrating Four Decades of Music

LAS VEGAS — New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) kicked off their long-awaited residency titled “The Right Stuff” on June 20 at Dolby Live at Park MGM, making a significant mark on the Las Vegas entertainment landscape. The iconic boy band, who rose to fame in the late ’80s, has never had a residency in Sin City until now, despite their enduring popularity over the past 40 years.

As they took the stage previously occupied by talents like Usher and Lady Gaga, the members of NKOTB reflected on their journey. Jordan Knight shared how their perspective on performing in Vegas has changed over the years. “When you’re young, you think you’re really cool,” he commented, recognizing how their current performances are a celebration of their authenticity rather than a retreat into commercialism.

The first night featured an impressive array of performances as the band traversed a massive stage, complete with a life-size Boston train replica and interactive elements that engaged the crowd. One standout moment involved a Ferris wheel gondola rising to the heavens as Knight sang his solo hit “Give It to You,” while uplifting telephone booths allowed all five members to connect with fans in the upper tiers of the venue.

An unexpected highlight was a humorous “wedding” ceremony honoring their devoted fans. Donnie Wahlberg playfully asked the audience if they were ready to commit to NKOTB forever, only to receive a roaring affirmative response. He cheekily instructed them to forsake all other boy bands, highlighting the strong bond between the group and their fans.

Amidst the high-energy performances, Wahlberg took a moment to express gratitude to the audience for their unwavering support throughout the years, visibly moved as he reflected on their shared journey.

As they look to the future, NKOTB expressed enthusiasm about continuing their legacy. “We’ve been hanging tough for 40 years,” Wahlberg remarked before concluding the night with their famous anthem “Hangin’ Tough.” There seems to be no slowing down for these veterans, as they continue to light up the stage with the same passion they had when they first started.

The residency promises to bring back cherished memories for their longtime fans while introducing their music to new audiences, showcasing that after all these years, New Kids on the Block still have “The Right Stuff.”

The concert series runs through February 2026, with fans eagerly anticipating the remaining dates. The energy and enthusiasm from the opening night suggest that NKOTB’s journey is far from over, and their connection with fans remains as strong as ever.
