Bo Nix’s strong preseason performance with the Denver Broncos is earning him significant support from his biggest fan, his wife, Izzy Nix. Since their marriage in 2022, Izzy has been cheering for the rookie quarterback, who showcased his skills on Sunday by completing 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown, leading the Broncos to a commanding 27-2 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
On her Instagram Story, Izzy posted a picture of herself at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium alongside Nicolette Dellanno, who recently got engaged to Broncos quarterback Zach Wilson.
As the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and the fifth quarterback taken in the first round, Nix’s preseason performances have sparked conversations about his potential as Denver’s starting quarterback as they approach the season opener against Seattle on September 8.
In his first preseason outing on August 11, Nix was instrumental in helping the Broncos score on four of the five drives he participated in. After the game against the Packers, the 24-year-old expressed that he felt “really good,” although he acknowledged that determining his place on the depth chart was not up to him.
Nix mentioned feeling comfortable with the game plan that was in place for him, which he credited to head coach Sean Payton’s approach during the game.
The Broncos roster also includes veteran quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson. Stidham recently started the last two games of the previous season following the team’s split with Russell Wilson, while Zach Wilson, a former first-round pick, joined the Broncos after a challenging tenure with the Jets.
During the recent game, Zach Wilson completed 2 of 6 passes for 29 yards and was sacked twice, one leading to a safety. The Broncos will finish their preseason with a matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday.
