Nintendo has introduced a new set of Joy-Con colors for the Switch 2, featuring refreshing pastel shades known as “Light Purple” and “Light Green.” These vibrant controllers, which some might perceive as leaning more towards teal, will be available for purchase on February 12, coinciding with the launch of the highly anticipated game, Mario Tennis Fever.
For those eager to enhance their gaming experience, pre-orders for the new Joy-Con controllers are already open, maintaining a price point of $99.99, similar to the existing Light Blue and Light Red Joy-Con that Nintendo of America offers.
Since August 2025, Nintendo has adjusted the price of its Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers to $100, which was an increase from $94.99. While the Switch 2 console itself has not undergone a price change, Nintendo has raised the prices for its other devices: the original Switch now costs $339.99 (up from $299.99), the Switch OLED is priced at $399.99 (previously $349.99), and the Switch Lite has risen to $299.99 (up from $199.99). Additionally, the price of Nintendo’s Alarmo clock has also seen a $10 increase, bringing it to $110.
While Nintendo has not publicly cited a reason for these price hikes, industry analysts attribute the increases to US tariffs affecting imports from countries like China, Japan, and Vietnam, where a significant portion of Nintendo’s manufacturing takes place.
With these new Joy-Con colors set to brighten up the gaming landscape, fans of Nintendo can look forward to fresh aesthetics for their gaming adventures.
