Nikocado Avocado, the popular YouTube figure known for his “mukbang” videos, disclosed in a recent upload titled “Two Steps Ahead” that he has been covertly shedding hundreds of pounds while leading his followers to believe he remained significantly overweight. The video was posted on Friday.
With 3.9 million subscribers and 800 million views, Avocado, who refers to himself as the “King of Mukbangs,” revealed that for the past two years, he had been on a hidden weight loss journey, all while publishing older content for his audience.
In his previous video, Avocado stated that he weighed 359 pounds, but he has now lost 250 pounds. “Two steps ahead, two steps ahead,” he began the video, initially wearing a panda mask. “I am always—two steps ahead. This has been the greatest social experiment of my entire life,” he said while crossing his fingers.
Avocado commented on the fascination of watching people on the internet who are struggling, stating, “It’s alluring, it’s compelling, it’s gripping to observe all these unwell, disoriented beings roam the internet in search of stories.” He suggested that individuals adapt to these narratives and become influenced by them.
“I feel like I’m monitoring ants on an ant farm, one follows another,” he noted, referencing his fans and critics, and emphasized that people often consume whatever they are told.
He later removed the mask to showcase his weight loss, describing the experience as a “master plan.” “Today, I woke up from a very long dream and I also woke up from having lost 250 pounds off of my body,” he shared. He expressed frustration with how people had criticized him, calling them “the most messed up creatures on the entire planet.”
“People consuming anything they’re told to consume… so, I am the villain because I’ve made myself one. And you will continue to consume these stories about me,” he stated, likening his audience to ants being influenced and brainwashed.
In a different video posted on another of his channels, Avocado remarked, “I haven’t made a video for like two years.” Although he last filmed a mukbang three months ago, all of his videos had been recorded years earlier.
However, he quickly reverted to his old style, showcasing a large tray of black bean noodles in a new video. Viewer reactions were mixed, with some expressing surprise over the revelation.
“I think we all failed the social experiment,” one commenter noted.
“Let’s be real. This is what we hoped for rather than facing his passing due to complications caused by his heavy weight,” another wrote.
Some viewers speculated that he might have used weight loss medications, with one commenting, “The ozempic worked overtime,” while another agreed, “You can see how powerful Ozempic is.”
