Nikocado Avocado, the YouTube sensation known for his “mukbang” videos, announced in a recent video titled “Two Steps Ahead” that he has been secretly losing hundreds of pounds. This revelation came as a surprise to his fans, who believed he was still dangerously overweight.
Avocado, who boasts 3.9 million subscribers and 800 million views on YouTube, has called himself the “King of Mukbangs,” a trend in which individuals consume large quantities of food on camera. For the past two years, he has been on a covert weight loss journey while posting older videos to maintain the illusion of his previous weight.
In his latest video, he claimed to have weighed 359 pounds but is now 250 pounds lighter. “Two steps ahead, two steps ahead,” he declared in the video, wearing a Panda mask initially. Avocado described this period as “the greatest social experiment of my entire life.”
He stated, “It’s alluring, it’s compelling, it’s gripping to observe all these unwell, disoriented beings roam the internet in search of stories,” referring to his audience. He likened his fans and critics to ants, suggesting that they follow narratives fed to them.
Later in the video, Avocado unveiled his dramatic weight loss transformation and detailed his strategic approach. “Today, I woke up from a very long dream and I also woke up from having lost 250 pounds off of my body,” he said, criticizing the negative comments about him.
“It’s clear that I’ve made myself into the villain of this narrative,” he continued, emphasizing that his controversial persona would keep generating interest and stories about him each year.
In another video on a different channel, Avocado mentioned that he hadn’t made a mukbang video for almost two years, and the last one he uploaded was three months prior, recorded long before. However, he quickly returned to his traditional content, featuring an enormous tray of black bean noodles in his latest mukbang.
Comments on the video showed fans reacting with disbelief and discussion about the social experiment concept, with some expressing relief over his weight loss rather than fearing for his health. Speculation also arose regarding the potential use of weight loss medications, such as Ozempic, with various viewers pointing out its effectiveness.
