Behaviour Interactive has launched the public test build (PTB) for the highly anticipated crossover of Five Nights at Freddy’s with Dead by Daylight. The reveal at PAX East has led to a confirmed release date of June 17 for this chapter, which is poised to be one of the game’s most significant updates.
This new chapter introduces Springtrap, one of the most infamous villains from the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, as the latest Killer in Dead by Daylight. His gameplay is focused on surveillance and unexpected scares, making him a fitting addition to the chilling atmosphere of The Fog. Springtrap is equipped with a large pizza knife and a fire axe, which serves as his primary power. When thrown, the axe can reveal Survivors in its vicinity, adding a strategic layer to gameplay.
One of the standout features of this chapter is the adaptation of the iconic Security Office. Throughout a trial, players can find seven Security Doors that facilitate quick travel across the map, creating dynamic gameplay opportunities. Survivors can also utilize cameras placed above these doors to gather intel on Springtrap’s movements, while the Killer can disable these interactions by striking the doors.
The chapter also introduces the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Map, meticulously recreated with a nostalgic flair that features both outdoor and indoor areas. It is filled with familiar locations, such as the Kitchen and Arcade, all while embodying a sinister ambiance that fans of the franchise will appreciate. Players can expect unexpected jump scares and hidden easter eggs scattered throughout the map.
In addition to the new game mechanics and map, a dedicated Collection will accompany the chapter’s launch, featuring various outfits for Springtrap, including a Yellow Rabbit Legendary Outfit inspired by the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s movie and the Glitchtrap Legendary Outfit from Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted. Players will also have access to several rare outfits, and original Survivors can obtain a Freddy Fazbear’s t-shirt.
Dead by Daylight: Five Nights at Freddy’s will be accessible across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows Store.
