The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has declared a temporary road closure around the Rewa Bridge in Nausori to facilitate upgrade works. The closure will take place nightly from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, beginning on Thursday, November 6, 2025, and is expected to last for seven days, concluding on November 13, 2025.
During this closure, two lanes at the Pacific Energy Service Station end of the bridge will be closed to accommodate the construction activities, although limited traffic will still be permitted to cross the bridge. The FRA encourages motorists to plan their travel in advance and to anticipate possible delays during these hours. Access to and from Nausori will remain open despite the ongoing work.
To ensure safety and smooth travel through the work zone, traffic management personnel and appropriate signage will be in place. This effort aligns with the FRA’s previous initiatives aimed at improving road safety and infrastructure conditions throughout the region. Such roadworks, while temporarily inconvenient, are crucial for enhancing safety and operational efficiency, ultimately benefiting the community by paving the way for safer and more reliable transportation networks in Fiji.
In a similar vein, the FRA has previously undertaken road maintenance and improvement operations in key areas such as Suva, with work schedules designed to minimize disruption, often conducted in both day and night shifts. These ongoing efforts reflect a commitment to creating safer driving environments and improving overall travel experiences for all road users. The community’s understanding and cooperation during these upgrade processes are valued as they strive for long-term benefits in road performance and safety.
