Nicki Minaj is set to make a noteworthy appearance at a Treasury Department event this week, furthering her engagement with the MAGA movement. The rapper is among several high-profile guests, including Kevin O’Leary, known from “Shark Tank,” and Cheryl Hines, an actress from “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and spouse of Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. The event will feature speeches from former President Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
This summit will focus on the launch of “Trump Accounts,” a new investment initiative designed for children. These accounts, established through last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, are accessible to individuals under 18 and will allow investments to grow tax-free, similar to individual retirement accounts. Withdrawals can only be made once the holders reach adulthood, and the funds are intended for specified uses, including education, home purchases, starting a business, or retirement.
Minaj has expressed her enthusiasm for the program, sharing her thoughts on social media. She emphasized the importance of early financial literacy and support, stating that this initiative can empower children and potentially teach their parents valuable investment skills.
To kickstart these Trump Accounts, the administration has pledged $1,000 from the government, via a tax credit, for every baby born during Trump’s second term. However, enrollment in these accounts won’t be automatic; new parents must actively sign their children up. Adding to this initiative, Michael and Susan Dell recently announced a substantial donation of $6.25 billion aimed at distributing $250 increments to children under 10, focusing resources on low-income families.
The Trump administration seems committed to promoting the Trump Accounts program, which has garnered bipartisan support, as evident by the star-studded launch event and plans for a commercial during the Super Bowl. This attention comes amid ongoing challenges related to a deepening affordability crisis and immigration concerns, underscoring the administration’s ambitious outreach.
Minaj’s continued alignment with the right-wing agenda reflects her recent foray into political engagement. Her appearance at this event follows a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest just over a month ago, further solidifying her connections with the MAGA movement.
