Nick Saban, the renowned football coach, has acknowledged that he hasn’t viewed the recently released documentary “The Many Lives of Lane Kiffin” by E60. The film, praised for its insightful portrayal, delves into the career and personal life of Lane Kiffin, the current head coach of Ole Miss. It traces his journey from his time at Fresno State, the Oakland Raiders, Tennessee, USC, and FAU, to his current role.
Kiffin’s tenure as Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016 is also a focal point of the documentary. While Saban was interviewed for the film to provide a firsthand account of working with Kiffin, he expressed to Pat McAfee that he preferred not watching it, humorously stating, “I lived it for three years. That was good enough for me.”
Despite reports of contrasting personalities during their collaboration at Alabama, Saban emphasized that there are no hard feelings between them. He expressed great admiration for Kiffin’s coaching abilities, stating, “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Lane. He did a great job for us. He’s a great play caller.”
Saban appreciates Kiffin’s growth as a coach, acknowledging his personal development and resilience in overcoming various challenges. He believes Kiffin’s experiences have contributed positively to his current success.
This positive sentiment highlights the mutual respect and the enduring professional relationship between the two football figures, even years after their working relationship ended at Alabama.
