Pro Football Focus (PFF) has released its grades for all games from Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season. The analysis is ongoing and will be updated after Monday Night Football.
PFF’s team has been diligently evaluating player performances in real time throughout Week 1. Each week, the site will spotlight noteworthy statistics or noteworthy grades from NFL games.
Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams had an impressive game, participating in 30 receiving snaps and catching five passes for 121 yards after being targeted on 26.7% of his routes. His average of 4.03 yards per route run was boosted by three plays that exceeded 15 yards.
Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons recorded a sack, four hits, and six hurries during the team’s victory over the Browns. Although his 20.8% pass-rush win rate was lower than his overall pressure rate of 22.9%, he had five instances of winning his pass-rush without immediate pressure.
Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels faced challenges in his debut, completing just 2 of 6 attempts for 27 yards on deeper passes. However, he shone as a runner, gaining 88 yards and scoring two rushing touchdowns, achieving a 74.6 PFF rushing grade.
Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa contributed with a sack, a hit, and a hurry across 28 pass-rushing snaps. He also made an impact on running plays, achieving two defensive stops and forcing a fumble.
Broncos quarterback Bo Nix had a rough start to his career, receiving a PFF passing grade of 40.4 and making three turnover-worthy plays, in contrast to his strong performance at Oregon.
With the departure of Matthew Judon, Patriots edge rusher Keion White stepped up impressively against the Bengals, earning a 90.8 PFF pass-rushing grade and recording three sacks on 28 snaps.
Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson had a mixed outing, completing 9 of 19 passes for 212 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Despite some missed opportunities, he impressed with a long touchdown throw under pressure and registered a commendable 81.8 PFF rushing grade.
Steelers edge rusher T.J. Watt was dominant against the Falcons, amassing a 95.3 PFF overall grade. He totaled a sack and two hits but also had two other sacks nullified by penalties.
Vikings cornerback Stephon Gilmore delivered a strong performance with a 75.6 PFF coverage grade, allowing only 29 yards on three targets in his coverage while contributing two tackles for a defensive stop.
Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, displayed typical rookie inconsistencies, achieving a 47.4 PFF grade with 28 yards on 3-for-8 passing beyond the sticks.
Saints quarterback Derek Carr had a standout performance, achieving an 88.7 PFF passing grade, completing 19 of 23 passes for 200 yards against the Panthers, featuring a highlight throw and a turnover-worthy play.
Bills edge rusher Greg Rousseau put forth one of his best performances, finishing with an 87.2 PFF pass-rushing grade after claiming three sacks and contributing two tackles that resulted in defensive stops.
Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill rebounded from a pre-game incident to post a dominant performance, earning an 81.2 PFF receiving grade with 130 yards on seven receptions from 12 targets.
Eagles tackle Lane Johnson continued to solidify his reputation as one of the league’s top offensive tackles, allowing no pressure over 41 pass-blocking snaps, earning an 84.6 PFF pass-blocking grade.
Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely achieved a career-high 111 receiving yards in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, earning a 91.8 PFF overall grade and forcing three missed tackles on nine receptions.
