FX released the trailer for its upcoming horror drama “Grotesquerie” on Wednesday, featuring NFL star Travis Kelce, who is also known for his relationship with Taylor Swift, as one of its co-stars.
In the chilling preview, Kelce hints at familiar faces appearing in the show. “Grotesquerie” stars Niecy Nash Betts as Lois Tryon, a detective grappling with a series of disturbing murders. At one crime scene, she remarks, “You have to really hate people to do what was done here. It’s inhuman. No, it’s unhuman.”
In a confession booth, she adds, “It’s like God left the keys to the candy store for the devil.” Tryon joins forces with a Catholic nun and a journalist specializing in the occult, played by Micaela Diamond, to unravel the mysteries behind the murders, which appear to have supernatural connections.
The killer, or killers, seem to mock the duo by leaving behind cryptic clues. Kelce’s character warns the investigators ominously: “There’s no future after this.” While his character’s name has not been disclosed, he is believed to be part of a murderous cult.
“Grotesquerie,” created by Ryan Murphy, is co-produced by Betts and her co-star Courtney B. Vance, and features actors such as Lesley Manville, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin. The series is set to debut on September 25 at 10 p.m. ET on FX, with streaming available on Hulu the following day.
