Mario Cilento, President of the New York State AFL-CIO, underscored the importance of nuclear energy in combating rising emissions and stabilizing the power system, while promising the creation of good-paying union jobs in the process. Gary LaBarbera, President of the New York State Building Trades, echoed these sentiments, highlighting that the development of new nuclear plants is crucial for generating reliable energy and fostering local economic growth.
Utility Workers Union of America President James Slevin and Laborers’ International Union of North America Vice President Donato A.
