The New York Giants are exploring their options for a new offensive line coach, and a notable candidate has just become available. Jeff Stoutland, who has spent the past 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, announced via social media that he will not be returning to the team’s coaching staff in 2026. Stoutland’s departure comes after he was stripped of his run-game coordinator responsibilities during the previous season.

In his heartfelt farewell, Stoutland reflected on his time in Philadelphia, stating, “When I arrived here in 2013, I did not know what I was signing up for. I quickly learned what this city demands. But more importantly, what it gives back. The past 13 years have been the great privilege of my coaching career. I didn’t just work here, I became one of you.” His impact on the Eagles is undeniable, having contributed to two Super Bowl victories and mentoring seven players who have collectively made 25 Pro Bowl appearances.

Despite turning 64 next week, Stoutland did not express any intent to retire, leading to speculation that he may take a different role with the Eagles as an alumni member for the upcoming season. The Giants, however, are keen to add Stoutland to their coaching staff, which is currently being restructured by new head coach John Harbaugh. The Giants recently hired Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator, leaving critical positions such as the offensive line and quarterbacks coaches still open.

In addition to Stoutland, another former Eagles offensive line coach, Juan Castillo, is also on the Giants’ radar. Castillo, 66, has a rich history in coaching, having worked under Harbaugh in Baltimore and most recently held the position of offensive line coach at Syracuse. His previous experience with the Eagles from 1998 to 2010, as well as his long-standing relationship with Harbaugh, makes him a strong candidate.

As the Giants look to revitalize their offensive line, both Stoutland and Castillo bring valuable experience and a track record of success in the NFL. The upcoming decisions in coaching appointments could play a significant role in the Giants’ performance in the forthcoming season, highlighting the importance of strategic hiring as they work towards returning to competitive form.
