Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital marked a joyful event as it welcomed its first newborn of the year on Saturday, January 4. Waylon Kenneth Mann made his entrance into the world at 11:29 p.m. He is the first child of Ali and Nate Mann, who reside in Lincoln City. Weighing 7 pounds, 14.3 ounces and measuring 20 inches in length, Waylon has already melted the hearts of his new parents.

The choice of Waylon’s name pays homage to the legendary country singer, Waylon Jennings, whose music is a favorite of Nate. The couple was drawn to the cowboy-esque charm of the name. In honoring family legacy, they chose Kenneth as the middle name, a tribute to Nate’s father, whom Ali describes as “a great person we love so much.”

The Mann family is relatively new to Lincoln City, having moved from Northern California just a year prior. Amidst their journey, they found their home in this beautiful coastal town, where they are now embarking on their new adventure as a family of three. As they gaze lovingly at their son, still wrapped snugly in a blanket, they can’t help but see resemblances to Nate.

To celebrate their arrival, the family received a thoughtful gift basket filled with baby essentials and toys, generously prepared by the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Auxiliary—a heartwarming gesture that underscores the supportive community surrounding them.

This delightful beginning for the Mann family is not just about welcoming a new life, but it also highlights the warmth and camaraderie of their new hometown, where they can build cherished memories together.
