New Hope area residents are gearing up to participate in the upcoming general election on Tuesday, November 4. This election will give voters the opportunity to cast their ballots for various municipal offices as well as for positions on the New Hope-Solebury School Board.

The early voting period has already started, with mail-in ballots being submitted to the Board of Elections across the county. Voters will be electing officials for several key roles at the county level, including District Attorney, Bucks County Sheriff, Prothonotary, Recorder of Deeds, and County Controller. Additionally, the election will introduce a new group of judges to the bench.

In local contests, the races for Solebury Township Supervisor and New Hope Borough Mayor are drawing particular attention. In Solebury, voters have the task of electing two supervisors from a pool of three candidates. Incumbent supervisors John Francis and Mark Baum Baicker are seeking re-election, citing their accomplishments over the past 15 years and asking residents to support their continued leadership. They face a challenge from Republican candidate John DeAndrea, who is focusing on fiscal responsibility, fostering a diverse political environment, promoting environmental sustainability, and enhancing education and community involvement.

In the race for New Hope Borough Mayor, the contest is also heating up with incumbent Frank DeLuca, a Democrat, competing against Republican candidate Mary Brashier. Voters will have the opportunity to choose between these candidates for a four-year term.

In addition to these contested races, residents will also vote for New Hope Borough Council members, where one position is open for a two-year term, and four are available for four-year terms, including the incumbent Democrat Joseph Kassick.

As New Hope prepares for this significant electoral event, the engagement of voters in local governance is crucial. Their choices can shape the community’s future and address key issues affecting their neighborhoods. With early voting underway, residents are encouraged to make their voices heard and participate actively in the democratic process.
