Edward N. “Eddie” Hoffman, a beloved member of the New Haven community, passed away at the age of 62 on November 27, 2025, at his residence. Born on May 25, 1963, Eddie was the son of Marjorie Mirabella Hoffman and the late William E. Hoffman. He is survived by his siblings, Elaine (Reid) Parrington, Lynne (Ronald) Scarpa, William (Claire) Hoffman, and Robert T. Hoffman, along with several nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly.
Before his retirement, Eddie dedicated many years of his life to education, serving as a school teacher for the New Haven Board of Education. His commitment to teaching left a lasting impact on countless students and their families.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects during a parlor service at Porto Funeral Home, located at 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. There will be a time for family and friends to gather from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Following the service, interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice are encouraged as a way to honor Eddie’s memory.
