Lois Gibson, a renowned crime sketch artist from Houston, has created a new sketch in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. This follows the emergence of footage captured by a doorbell camera that shows a masked individual seen near Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona. Gibson, a former forensic artist with the Houston Police Department, stated in a recent phone call that she felt compelled to produce an image despite the challenges posed by the ski mask obscuring much of the person’s face.

Utilizing the features visible in the surveillance footage, particularly the eyes and the shape of the face, Gibson crafted the drawing, hoping it may assist law enforcement in identifying the person of interest. Her decades-long career has made her an authority in forensic artistry, holding the Guinness world record for “Most Successful Forensic Artist” and assisting in the identification of over 751 criminals throughout her career.

The investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s case has escalated, with the FBI extending its search beyond Arizona. They have launched digital billboards across major Texas cities—Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and El Paso—displaying Guthrie’s photograph and offering a $50,000 reward for information that could lead to her recovery. Officials have deemed this case urgent, as time is of the essence amid ongoing investigations involving ransom demands.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing on February 1, with blood found outside her home and her cell phone now in police custody. Given her age and health conditions requiring daily medication, authorities are concerned that she could not have left on her own accord. Disturbingly, two ransom notes demanding $6 million in Bitcoin were reportedly sent to media outlets in connection to her absence.

The family, including Savannah Guthrie, has actively sought help from the public through social media, alternating between direct appeals for information and sharing cherished memories of their mother. Savannah Guthrie has expressed unwavering hope, stating, “we will never give up on her,” while emphasizing the family’s desire for confirmation of Nancy’s safety.

The investigation remains vigorous, with authorities encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact either the FBI tip line or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. As the search extends, the community remains hopeful for Nancy’s safe return and the identification of those responsible for her disappearance.
