A significant milestone in student leadership was marked last Sunday as the newly appointed 2026 prefects from both Queen Victoria School and Ratu Kadavulevu School were officially inducted in separate ceremonies led by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro.

In his address to the fresh cohort of student leaders, Minister Radrodro underscored that leadership is fundamentally rooted in trust, discipline, integrity, and dedication to service. He reminded the prefects that their selection was based on merit, urging them to embrace their roles with humility, respect, and a robust sense of responsibility.

“True leadership is built on good character and a heart for service,” he said, encouraging the students to serve as positive role models for their peers. The minister also warned against the prevalence of bullying and misconduct, highlighting the necessity of maintaining safe and drug-free school environments.

Mr. Radrodro emphasized the essential role of student leaders in upholding the core values of their schools and in promoting an atmosphere of mutual respect. He expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from teachers, parents, and guardians, reinforcing the idea that education extends beyond the classroom and begins at home.

In his closing remarks, he highlighted the importance of faith and strong moral values in guiding young leaders as they navigate their responsibilities. This new chapter for the prefects not only signifies a commitment to their schools but also illustrates a brighter future built on principled leadership and community engagement.
