Koli Sewabu has officially assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Rugby Union, and he is focused on implementing necessary reforms to improve the organization’s operations. One of his primary objectives is to restructure Rugby House with an aim to enhance both efficiency and professionalism.

Sewabu recognizes that there is a need for better systems off the field, which he believes is critical for boosting performance on the pitch as well. He highlighted that a previous strategic plan lacked formal endorsement, leading to the development of a new 10-year strategic plan that is currently awaiting board approval. This initiative aims to introduce notable changes within management, governance, and operations, significantly refining how the union functions.

“We will be having a lot of new changes in the coming weeks regarding the structures, systems, and personnel,” Sewabu stated, hinting at imminent new appointments that will align with the upcoming transformations.

In addition to internal changes, Sewabu has also announced plans for nationwide visits and audits of member unions. These audits will focus on enhancing standards in governance, coaching, training, education, accreditation, and adherence to participation rules. This comprehensive strategy reiterates Sewabu’s commitment to revitalizing the Fiji Rugby Union and improving rugby standards throughout the nation.
