Bobby Forrest Jr., a criminal defense attorney from Little Rock, has officially announced his candidacy for the position of prosecuting attorney for Arkansas’s Sixth Judicial District, which includes Pulaski and Perry Counties. He will be challenging the incumbent Will Jones, who is running for reelection.
Forrest, who founded the Chosen Law Group in Little Rock and has a background as a narcotics detective, expressed his motivation, stating, “I’m running for Prosecuting Attorney because the current system is not working.” He emphasizes the need for a better understanding of the criminal justice system and aims to bring a comprehensive perspective shaped by his experiences, including his personal struggles with crime and violence, such as the recent tragic murder of his sister.
In his announcement, Forrest outlined his key priorities, which focus on enhancing accountability for violent offenders, improving victim and witness advocacy, implementing effective prevention and rehabilitation strategies within the juvenile justice system, building community partnerships, and addressing the root causes of crime, including addiction and mental health issues.
His campaign kickoff event is scheduled for May 19 at his downtown Little Rock establishment, Xperience Kitchen and Lounge. Forrest’s background also includes a significant tenure as a police officer and community involvement, where he has received accolades for saving lives during critical incidents, indicating a commitment to public service.
