A new round of wintry weather is set to impact New England, with a mix of rain, ice, and snow expected to arrive Thursday afternoon and continue into early Friday morning. Tevin Wooten provides detailed insights on this evolving weather pattern.

As temperatures fall again tonight, the region will prepare for another messy winter system. Initially, southern areas will experience rain and freezing rain, but as colder air filters in during the evening, it will lead to increased freezing rain and sleet, particularly along and north of the Massachusetts Turnpike. This weather mix is anticipated to create hazardous travel conditions during Friday morning’s commute, with Winter Weather Advisories already issued in several parts of the region.

However, the forecast does bring some good news. After this wintery mix, a significant warming trend is expected to begin this weekend. By early next week, temperatures could reach into the 50s and even 60s, providing a welcome break from the below-normal temperatures that have characterized much of February. This upcoming warmth will help usher in a more spring-like feel, as residents look forward to milder weather ahead.

As always, staying updated with live radar and weather alerts will be key to navigating the changes in conditions as they unfold.
