Kris Wright’s stint as the full-time driver for Our Motorsports in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series has come to an early end following disappointing performances, including a failure to qualify for the recent street race in Chicago. Wright, who had hoped to revive his career after a previous season with Brandonbilt Motorsports, struggled significantly throughout the season, achieving only one top 15 finish—a ninth place at Martinsville Speedway. His other finishes were notably lower, and he faced nine races where he did not finish or ended up lower than 30th.
In a surprising turn of events, Kaz Grala has been announced as Wright’s replacement for the upcoming race at Dover Motor Speedway. Grala, who is well-liked by fans, previously finished 17th in the championship standings in a full season two years ago and has shown potential with nine top 10 finishes. His experience and determination could provide Our Motorsports with a much-needed boost as they head into the remaining races of the season.
Currently, Grala’s appearance at the BetRivers 200 this Saturday is the only confirmed race for the No. 5 Chevrolet for the rest of the 2025 season. Fans are hopeful that this opportunity will open the door for more engagements in the competitive Xfinity Series. The race is set to be broadcast live on the CW Network, giving Grala a chance to showcase his skills in front of a national audience.
This change has sparked excitement among fans, who believe Grala is a strong contender to improve the team’s performance moving forward. With the season still unfolding, there remains hope for a turnaround that could reinvigorate the No. 5 team’s chances.
