The Arizona Diamondbacks have introduced a fresh City Connect uniform that pays tribute to the franchise’s iconic past. Unveiled recently, the new design blends elements from previous jerseys with inspirations drawn from Arizona’s rich cultural tapestry and desert landscape.
Key features of the uniform include the “Serpientes” lettering, which translates to “snakes” in Spanish and prominently appears on a vibrant purple backdrop, moving away from the gold seen in earlier designs. This evolution reflects the team’s commitment to honoring its heritage while modernizing its aesthetic.
Fans will first see the new threads during the opening of Mexican Heritage weekend, when the Diamondbacks face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The new jerseys will then be worn for every Friday home game for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Additionally, the sleeves of the uniform reference the Diamondbacks’ triumphant 2001 World Series victory, featuring a darker color scheme reminiscent of the uniforms worn during that championship season. The sleeve design also draws on past alternate uniforms from 1998 to 2006, maintaining continuity with the franchise’s history.
The front of the jersey showcases a snakeskin pattern, along with heritage pinstripes that harken back to a previous era. The accompanying cap will feature the “S” logo from “Serpientes,” debuting in a dynamic purple and teal colorway, unlike the initial City Connect design that used the traditional “A” cap logo.
The uniform further emphasizes its Arizona roots with a flag patch on the sleeve and the phrase “Arizona Born” on the collar. The jock tag also highlights the silhouette of Arizona, celebrating the franchise’s inaugural season in Major League Baseball in 1998.
Derrick Hall, president and CEO of the Diamondbacks, expressed pride in the new uniforms, stating that they embody the essence of the organization and honor the team’s fans and Arizona’s vibrant culture. This initiative not only revitalizes the team’s image but also deepens its connection with the community, making it a hopeful step for both the players and supporters alike.
