New allegations of sexual misconduct have emerged against acclaimed author Neil Gaiman, adding to the growing list of accusations made by women who claim they were assaulted by him. According to a report by Vulture, four new allegations were included alongside previously disclosed claims in an investigative piece that examined incidents spanning several years.

The accusations against Gaiman, 64, known for his works like “The Sandman” and “American Gods,” have gained further visibility due to an upcoming podcast series from U.K. outlet Tortoise, titled “Master: the allegations against Neil Gaiman.” This series is set to dive deeper into existing allegations, including five reported incidents of sexual assault.

Many of the reported victims were in their 20s during the alleged incidents, occurring when Gaiman was significantly older, with one incident dating back to 1986 when he was in his mid-20s. These women included fans and individuals who had worked with Gaiman in various capacities.

Upon inquiry, Gaiman’s representatives argued that the interactions were consensual and part of BDSM practices. However, the stories detailed in the Vulture report recount high instances of alleged coercion and violence, with explicit accounts from the victims suggesting otherwise.

One individual, Scarlett Pavlovich, claimed that she was assaulted by Gaiman while working as a nanny in his household. She described a harrowing experience involving physical domination and sexual violations, which she alleges occurred repeatedly during her time there.

Other accounts include a woman’s recollection of an incident on a tour bus in 2012, as well as narratives detailing emotionally and physically taxing relationships with Gaiman that spanned multiple years. Reports indicate troubling patterns of behavior and lack of consent that align with the emerging accounts.

The fallout from these allegations has reportedly affected Gaiman’s professional engagements. Disney has halted its film adaptation of “The Graveyard Book,” and the future of Netflix’s adaptation of “The Sandman” remains uncertain. Following the allegations, Gaiman’s work has faced revisions and delays, highlighting the significant impact on his career amidst this controversy.

These allegations have also contributed to conversations around consent, power dynamics in relationships, and the need for accountability within the literary and entertainment industries. As the situation develops, affected parties continue to seek acknowledgment and support, emphasizing the importance of transparency and healing in cases of sexual violence.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence, resources for support are available, emphasizing that help is accessible and vital in such challenging times.
