Netflix has launched its new Spanish-language limited series, “No One Saw Us Leave,” which is inspired by the harrowing true story of a young mother determined to find her missing children after being ensnared in a troubled arranged marriage. This five-part series draws from the memoir of Tamara Trottner, one of the missing children, and offers a gripping portrayal of her family’s ordeal.

In the series, Valeria, portrayed by actress Valeria Goldberg, loses her children following her marriage to Leo Saltzman, played by Emiliano Zurita. Saltzman, whose father is a prominent businessman in Mexico, devises a plan to undermine Valeria and ultimately flees to Europe with their children, Tamara (Marion Siro) and Isaac (Alexander Varela). Upon realizing her children are missing, Valeria enlists the help of private investigator Elías (Ari Brickman) as she embarks on a desperate journey to locate them.

The show delves into the emotional turmoil Valeria faces, intensified by the efforts of her in-laws to alienate her from their community. The gripping synopsis of the series highlights the lengths to which Valeria must go as she pursues Leo and their children across continents.

Tamara Trottner has spoken publicly about her family’s distressing experience. In an interview with Chilango in 2022, she shared memories of her abduction at the age of five, alongside her brother, by their father, who kept them away from their mother for several years. During this time, Trottner and her brother were relocated across various European countries while their mother tirelessly searched for them.

In a more recent interview for “De Dientes Para Adentro,” Trottner recounted how she initially believed their father was taking them on a vacation. However, as the days turned into months, it became evident that something was amiss when he avoided answering their questions about their mother and former life.

Trottner continues to share her story through her writings, including her latest book, “Pronunciaré,” a prequel to her original memoir, “Nadie Nos Vio Partir.” In her most recent interview with Librotea, she expressed her appreciation for her grandmother’s story, detailing their escape from Eastern Europe during tumultuous times.

Now a celebrated author, Trottner remains thankful to her mother, whom she affectionately describes as an “awesome mom.” All five episodes of “No One Saw Us Leave” are currently available for streaming on Netflix, offering audiences a powerful narrative that sheds light on resilience and the enduring bond of family.
