Netflix has entered a partnership with Barstool Sports, headed by Dave Portnoy, to bring “unfiltered commentary” from the network’s popular podcast hosts to a global audience. The multiyear agreement will grant Netflix exclusive rights to video versions of three widely recognized Barstool podcasts: “Pardon My Take,” “The Ryen Russillo Podcast,” and “Spittin’ Chiclets.” Beginning in early 2026, full video episodes of these podcasts will be available exclusively on Netflix, meaning they will no longer be on YouTube after next year. The rollout will start in the United States before expanding to other regions.

This new deal includes both new episodes and selected library episodes from each podcast, while audio versions will still be accessible through major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Dave Portnoy expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, aiming to attract new audiences to both Barstool and Netflix. Lauren Smith, Netflix’s VP of content licensing and programming strategy, echoed this sentiment, highlighting how the partnership enhances Netflix’s podcast offerings while delivering the unfiltered and humorous content that fans crave.

The announcement marks another step in Netflix’s efforts to expand its podcast programming slate. The streaming giant has previously secured licensing agreements to feature video podcasts from other notable sources, including Spotify and iHeartMedia.

“Barstool Sports” boasts several popular podcasts, with “Pardon My Take” being a standout, hosted by Big Cat and PFT Commenter, known for their sharp sports analysis and entertaining segments. Meanwhile, “The Ryen Russillo Show” offers in-depth sports discussions and guest interviews, and “Spittin’ Chiclets” covers NHL news infused with pop-culture commentary.

Portnoy founded Barstool Sports in 2002 and has navigated multiple ownership changes, including a brief period in which he sold majority control to Peter Chernin’s company, followed by a purchase by Penn Entertainment. Most recently, in a surprising twist of events, Portnoy reacquired Barstool from Penn for just $1 in 2023, shortly before Penn rebranded its sports betting venture in partnership with ESPN.

As Netflix continues to enhance its content library, the partnership with Barstool Sports promises to provide subscribers with engaging and entertaining content that aligns with their preferences for dynamic sports commentary.
