Former Flying Fijians winger and Crusaders star Nemani Nadolo has embraced a significant new role as the development coach for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua. Hailing from Namatakula in Nadroga, the 37-year-old joins the Drua during a crucial time as the club enhances its development squad and team management in anticipation of the upcoming Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific seasons.
Nadolo brings an impressive depth of experience to his coaching role, having represented Fiji in 30 Test matches and accumulating a total of 242 points. His scoring accomplishments have made him a notable figure in Fijian rugby history, recognized for his powerful playing style and try-scoring ability. After transitioning from a player to a rugby commentator in 2024, where he became a familiar voice during broadcasts of Fijian Drua home matches, Nadolo is now eager to share his expertise in coaching.
Drua’s general manager rugby, Baden Stephenson, expressed confidence in Nadolo’s potential impact on the team’s development players, emphasizing that his passion for rugby and commitment to nurturing talent will be invaluable. “Nemani is very passionate to give back and share his vast knowledge and experience,” Stephenson stated.
