New allegations of sexual assault have emerged against renowned novelist Neil Gaiman, adding to nearly a dozen accusations from women who claim he assaulted them. Vulture reported that these new allegations include shared elements with prior accusations discussed in a podcast series titled “Master: the allegations against Neil Gaiman,” produced by U.K. media outlet Tortoise, which first highlighted five allegations this past summer.

Gaiman, known for his acclaimed works like “The Sandman,” “Good Omens,” “American Gods,” and “Coraline,” faces accusations from women who were mostly in their 20s at the time of the alleged incidents, while Gaiman was in his 40s. One allegation dates back to 1986 when a woman claims Gaiman forcibly kissed her when he was in his mid-20s. Reports indicate that some accusers were fans, while others worked with him.

In response to these allegations, Gaiman’s representatives have maintained that the encounters were consensual and involved practices of BDSM. A key allegation details an incident involving Scarlett Pavlovich, who worked as a nanny for Gaiman’s ex-wife, Amanda Palmer. Pavlovich claims she was assaulted by Gaiman in a bathtub on his property, where he allegedly forced her to call him “master” while subjecting her to physical assaults.

Another alleged victim, Kendall, recalled an incident on a tour bus in 2012 when Gaiman purportedly forced himself upon her. A third woman, Kendra Stout, described a relationship that began in 2003 that turned increasingly abusive, despite her objections during instances of alleged rough sex.

The allegations have reportedly affected Gaiman’s career, leading to delays and changes in several projects associated with him. IndieWire noted that Disney has paused its film adaptation of “The Graveyard Book,” and Amazon has altered plans for the conclusion of “Good Omens,” shifting from a third season to a 90-minute episode.

Despite the serious nature of these allegations, the situation highlights the ongoing conversations about consent and abuse within creative industries. This incident may encourage further discussions around accountability and support for survivors, fostering an environment that prioritizes safety and respect.

This article serves as a reminder of the critical importance of listening to and supporting those who come forward with their experiences.
