Ndiaye Takes the Leap: From EuroLeague Champion to NBA Hopeful

Eli Ndiaye was not selected in the 2025 NBA Draft but has now signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. The 21-year-old forward has played a significant role with Real Madrid over the past three years, contributing to their 2022-23 EuroLeague championship season. During his tenure with the Spanish club, Ndiaye participated in 67 matches within the EuroLeague, averaging 3.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 0.6 steals, and 0.5 assists in 25 outings during the recently concluded 2024-25 season.

Ndiaye’s success with Real Madrid extends beyond the EuroLeague, as he helped the team secure three ACB titles, including the latest Liga Endesa championship. His overall performance in Spain’s top-tier league saw him make 83 appearances, posting averages of 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds across 36 games last season.

In addition to Ndiaye’s signing, fellow undrafted rookies such as Vladislav Goldin, who recently played in the NCAA, have also found homes, with Goldin agreeing to a two-way contract with the Miami Heat. Another notable undrafted player, Izan Almansa, has recently played in Australia’s NBL.

This development for Ndiaye represents a significant opportunity for him to further his professional career in the NBA, underscoring the potential for growth and success for athletes transitioning from international leagues to the NBA.
