Navua's $3M Service Station Poised to Boost Fiji's Economy

Navua Gets a New Service Station, Fueling Fiji’s Growth

A new multi-million dollar service station in Navua is set to significantly enhance regional infrastructure and stimulate economic growth. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the groundbreaking ceremony, underscoring that this project symbolizes a strong endorsement of Fiji’s private sector and its capacity to drive national development.

This $3 million initiative, spearheaded by local firm B. Prasad and Sons Limited in collaboration with TotalEnergies Fiji, aims to provide more than just a fuel stop. It will feature rest areas for long-distance truck drivers, ample parking, retail services, and essential infrastructure that benefits nearby communities.

During the ceremony, Rabuka emphasized that the construction and operation of the service station will create direct job opportunities for locals while opening up new avenues for contractors, suppliers, and entrepreneurs. He noted the numerous benefits that local enterprises like B. Prasad contribute, including lower transportation costs, better access to services, and enhanced supply chains, all of which play a role in fostering a resilient economy.

The Prime Minister also pointed out that this project aligns with the objectives outlined in Fiji’s National Development Plan 2025–2030 and Vision 2050, particularly in terms of decentralizing economic activities and promoting inclusive growth.

Expected to be completed next year, the station will serve as a vital hub for transportation and trade along Viti Levu’s central corridor. This initiative reflects the growing trend of collaboration between local businesses and community development, showcasing Fiji’s commitment to sustainable economic advancement. Similar projects, such as recent openings by Pacific Energy in Nadi, which also focus on community engagement and local partnerships, further highlight the potential for continued growth and development across Fiji.
