A tragic road accident in the Nausori Highlands has claimed the life of a 15-year-old male student, marking yet another road fatality in the area. According to police reports, the student was traveling with seven others towards Nadi when the driver lost control of the vehicle while descending a hill.
The vehicle overturned, resulting in all occupants being ejected before it plunged nearly 100 meters down a cliff. Emergency services quickly responded, transporting all passengers to Nadi Hospital, where the teenager was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Among the other passengers, three individuals remain hospitalized but are reported to be in stable condition. The remaining occupants, including the driver, received treatment and have since been discharged.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident. As the community mourns this tragic loss, it is a stark reminder of the importance of road safety, particularly for young drivers.
