“National Anthem Surprise: Ingrid Andress Stuns at MLB Home Run Derby”

Four-time Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress took the microphone this evening at the MLB Home Run Derby to perform the National Anthem, but her shaky rendition left attendees and social media users puzzled.

Andress stepped onto the field at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, as planned before the baseball game. However, things went awry when she started singing, missing some notes and eliciting noticeable reactions from the players.

“Uhhh… that anthem was interesting. Sung by Ingrid Andress,” tweeted Ben Brown, capturing the mixed response from those watching.

Social media quickly drew comparisons to other infamous performances, such as Fergie’s live version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and Roseanne Barr’s rendition at a Padres game in 1990.

Originally from Michigan and raised in Colorado, Andress has built a successful career in the country music scene, releasing her debut album “Lady Like” in March 2020. She followed it up with her sophomore album “Good Person” in 2022, achieving Billboard Hot 100 hits with “More Hearts Than Mine” and “Wishful Drinking” with Sam Hunt, which peaked at Nos. 30 and 47, respectively.

Throughout her career, Andress has received four Grammy nominations, including best new artist, best country song, and best country album in 2021. In 2023, “Wishful Drinking” was nominated for best country duo/group performance.

Earlier today, Andress hinted at the start of a new chapter with the announcement of her upcoming single “Colorado 9,” set to release on July 24. Leading up to the song’s release, she is scheduled to perform in Nashville on July 17 and in Denver on July 24.
