Nasinu and Labasa have emerged victorious in the 2025 Fiji Primary Schools Inter District Championship (IDC) under-14 categories. On Friday afternoon at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, Nasinu clinched the title in the boys’ U14 division by narrowly overcoming Rewa with a score of 1-0. Despite Rewa being the favorites, having gone undefeated in the group stages, they were unable to capitalize on their chances, while Nasinu executed a disciplined defensive game along with effective counterattacks to secure the win.
In the semi-finals leading up to the final, Rewa edged past Seaqaqa with a 1-0 victory, while Nasinu similarly defeated Ba by the same scoreline. The final was a testament to Nasinu’s resilience and tactical discipline.
In the girls’ U14 division, Labasa triumphed over Ba, securing the championship title with a thrilling 2-1 victory. After both teams were level at 1-all by the end of regular time, Labasa scored a decisive goal in the dying moments of extra time, much to the delight of their supporters.
This year’s results highlight an exciting continuation of talent in Fiji’s youth football scene and promise a bright future for these young athletes as they showcase their skills on a greater platform.
