A family from Nasinu is desperately seeking answers regarding an eye injury their son suffered at school six months ago. George Sharma shared that his 11-year-old son, Aransh Sharma, sustained the injury after a fellow student reportedly threw a pen at him. Since the incident occurred in April, Aransh has been unable to attend school, which has significantly disrupted his education.
The Sharma family is appealing for assistance from authorities to ensure Aransh receives the necessary medical care and educational support. George Sharma expressed his frustration with the situation, stating, “I have tried to seek help from the ministry and police, but I haven’t received anything as of yet.” They have been actively seeking help, stressing the urgent need for prompt support and clearer procedures to maintain safety in schools.
Although the school had initially assured the family they would provide educational materials, Aransh has yet to receive any resources. His father mentioned that due to the stitches from his operation, returning to school is painful for Aransh, leading them to decide against forcing him back until he is physically ready.
In light of their ongoing struggles, the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, encouraged parents facing similar challenges to reach out directly to his office if their concerns remain unaddressed. He stated, “For those that have not been attended to, I implore them to approach my office to seek some replies and for the concerns that they have raised.”
The Sharma family’s situation highlights a critical issue regarding the safety and welfare of children in schools. Their experience emphasizes the need for collaboration among parents, educators, and government officials to create secure learning environments for students nationwide.
As they await a resolution to their predicament, the community is reminded of the importance of proactive measures in ensuring the safety of children in educational settings. This collective awareness fosters hope for a future where children can pursue their education free from such distressing incidents.
