Nasinu family seeks answers after school injury sidelines 11-year-old

A family from Nasinu is urgently seeking answers regarding the injury sustained by their son at school six months ago. George Sharma reported that his 11-year-old son, Aransh Sharma, suffered an eye injury when a fellow student allegedly threw a pen at him. Following the incident in April, Aransh has been unable to attend school, hindering his education.

The Sharma family is calling for support from authorities to ensure Aransh receives the necessary medical attention and educational materials. George Sharma expressed his frustrations, stating, “I have tried to seek help from the ministry and police, but I haven’t received anything as of yet.” They have been tirelessly searching for assistance, emphasizing their need for timely support and clear procedures to ensure safety in educational environments.

The school had previously assured the family they would provide educational resources, but to this day, Aransh has yet to receive anything. His father mentioned that due to the stitches from his operation, attending school is painful for him, therefore they have chosen not to force him to return until he is ready.

In response to their plight, the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, advised parents facing similar issues to approach his office directly if their concerns are not being addressed. “For those that have not been attended to, I implore them to approach my office to seek some replies and for the concerns that they have raised,” he stated.

As the Sharma family awaits assistance, their situation underscores a broader issue regarding the safety and well-being of children in schools. The ongoing struggle emphasizes the need for cooperation among parents, educators, and government officials to cultivate safe learning environments for students across the nation.

While the family eagerly awaits a resolution, the community is reminded of the importance of proactive measures to ensure children’s safety in educational settings, fostering hope for a brighter future where children can learn and thrive without fear of such incidents.
