The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has announced plans to relocate health services from the Namaka Health Centre in Nadi to the Blackrock Medical Centre. This decision comes as the Namaka Health Centre is set to undergo extensive renovations starting on October 4, 2025.
These renovations, managed by Airports Fiji, are part of ongoing efforts to address the aging infrastructure of healthcare facilities across the country. The renovation project is anticipated to take between nine to twelve months to complete. During this period, the community is advised to seek medical care at Blackrock Medical Centre or the Nadi Hospital.
This move follows similar initiatives by the Ministry, such as the temporary relocation of services during renovations at Kamikamica Health Centre and Vunisea Hospital in Kadavu. These projects underscore a national commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure. Similar efforts have seen hospitals like Navua undergoing necessary maintenance to address structural weaknesses.
