Nadroga’s senior men’s rugby team is set to star in an exciting new television series that will capture their preparations for the upcoming Skipper Cup competition. The series, titled “House of Rugby,” is being produced by the local company New Fossil Productions, which aims to provide a unique glimpse into the hard work and dedication that goes into preparing for one of Fiji’s most esteemed rugby tournaments.
Blair Robertson, the director and co-producer, expressed that Nadroga was chosen for this series due to its illustrious history and strong legacy in the Skipper Cup. He stated, “We’re still taking advice on this and the overall structure of the show, but we have a blueprint and come next year’s Skipper Cup, we’ll be ready to start filming. We will be filming as early as next week.”
Robertson, who has a deep connection to local rugby and a notable career in filmmaking, was raised in Fiji and is currently based in Naboutini, Serua. His background in rugby, with his father having played and coached Suva in the 1970s, along with his own experiences playing both locally and internationally, brings an authentic perspective to the series.
This upcoming show not only aims to highlight the challenges faced by the team but will also connect with fans through the emotional and physical journey of the players, offering a newfound appreciation for the sport. With the foundation being laid now, anticipation builds for a series that will surely celebrate the spirit of rugby in Fiji.
