Musk’s Stark Rebellion: A Father’s Controversial Stand on Gender Care

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently expressed controversial views regarding his estranged daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, in an interview with psychologist and conservative commentator Jordan Peterson. Musk claimed that Wilson was “killed” after receiving gender-affirming care, which he referred to as “child mutilation and sterilization.” He voiced his intent to combat what he calls the “woke mind virus.”

Musk revealed that during the pandemic, Wilson came out as transgender at the age of 16 and underwent gender-affirming procedures. He stated he felt misled into giving consent, especially discussing an incident involving his son when he was pressured by concerns over potential suicide.

Musk condemned the practice of providing gender treatments to minors, describing it as “incredibly evil” and suggesting that those who promote such treatments should face imprisonment. He expressed regret over the decisions made, mentioning that he was not informed that puberty blockers function as sterilization drugs.

Musk’s remarks come on the heels of his company’s plans to relocate to Texas, following California’s AB1955, legislation that limits parental notification when a child identifies as transgender and mandates state support for LGBTQ+ youth. Musk has faced accusations of transphobia and promoting anti-trans narratives in the past.

In 2022, Wilson sought a name change and a new birth certificate, seeking to distance herself from Musk entirely. He has attributed their strained relationship to her education at a progressive school in Los Angeles, suggesting that this dynamic has influenced his stance on various social issues.

Over recent years, Musk has shifted from his previously center-left political views to adopting more right-wing perspectives, particularly on topics like diversity, election integrity, and immigration. He recently endorsed the Republican presidential ticket of former President Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance, both known for their opposition to clean energy initiatives.
