Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas have expressed their support for Kamala Harris in her 2024 presidential campaign.
On Tuesday, coinciding with National Voter Registration Day, the musical siblings shared their endorsement through an Instagram video. Eilish stated, “We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy. Vote like your life depends on it, because it does.”
Finneas emphasized the importance of voting to combat extremism, saying, “We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms, and our future. The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.”
They encouraged their followers to visit iwillvote.com to verify their voter registration and prepare to vote.
In 2020, Eilish endorsed Joe Biden, participating in the Democratic National Convention where she criticized then-President Donald Trump. She highlighted the need for leaders who would address issues such as climate change and systemic racism.
The endorsement from the Grammy and Oscar-winning siblings follows a recent announcement by Taylor Swift endorsing Harris, which generated nearly 400,000 visits to the vote.gov website, where citizens can register to vote.
Beyoncé has allowed Harris to use her 2016 song “Freedom” as a campaign anthem, and several artists, including Megan Thee Stallion, Bon Iver, Barbra Streisand, and John Legend, have shown their support for the Harris-Walz ticket. Additionally, stars like Pink and The Chicks attended the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
