A suspect has been charged with first-degree murder following a tragic shooting incident in Oklahoma City. The police responded to the scene near the Harkins Theatre around 11:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. The victim, identified as 18-year-old Lyric Lewis, sustained a chest wound and was transported to a hospital in a private vehicle, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Initial investigations revealed critical details from surveillance footage. It captured two vehicles — a red pickup truck and a dark blue Nissan Maxima — stopped in the eastbound lane of Oklahoma Boulevard just minutes before the shooting. Witnesses reported an unidentified black man, dressed in a light-colored hoodie, emerged from the red pickup truck and fired several shots into a nearby crowd, before fleeing back to the vehicle, which sped away to the east.

Further analysis of the footage indicated a group of five men walking from the Bricktown area shortly before the incident. Detectives traced the vehicles involved back to the parents of 32-year-old Devin Stallings, who fits the description of one of the suspects. Investigators later discovered that the red pickup truck had been parked at the residence of Stallings’ girlfriend shortly after the shooting occurred.

This incident underscores the ongoing concerns about gun violence within communities. Authorities are working diligently to gather further evidence and witnesses to ensure that justice is served. Everyone is encouraged to come forward with any information that could aid in the investigation.

It’s essential to recognize the impact of such tragedies on families and communities, and it highlights the need for continued discussions on public safety and violence prevention measures.
