Virginia State Police have successfully canceled an AMBER Alert concerning three children who were abducted from Fishersville, following the arrest of their mother, Shanice Davison. Davison, 35, hailing from Evergreen, Alabama, was taken into custody in the Birmingham area after a brief chase on I-495, facilitated by the Alabama Highway Patrol and US Marshals. Fortunately, all three children were found safe and unharmed.

The investigation revealed that Davison is the estranged biological mother of the children and was responsible for their abduction. Authorities believe she was traveling with the children and might have been attempting to return to Alabama. Davison faces three felony abduction charges in Virginia.

Virginia State Police had previously issued an AMBER Alert for the children:

– Jai’Marcus Lewis, 10, male
– Ja’Miyah Lewis, 8, female
– Ja’Liyah Lewis, 6, female

The alert indicated that the children were in “extreme danger” at the time of their disappearance. The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the children were taken from a bus stop after a vehicle fitting the description of a newer model Nissan Sentra approached them. The siblings were last seen at approximately 7:40 a.m. wearing distinctive jackets, which helped in their identification.

Sheriff Donald Smith emphasized the importance of reunifying the children with their legal guardians swiftly and securely, stating that “this is an active investigation.”

This incident serves as a reminder of the collaborative efforts among law enforcement agencies to protect children and ensure their safety. The successful resolution of this case brings hope, highlighting the importance of community vigilance and the diligence of investigative teams.
