BALTIMORE, Md. – The Morgan State men’s basketball team has unveiled a competitive schedule for the 2024-25 season, with a significant focus on home games in the non-conference section, featuring eight contests at Hill Field House.
The Bears will kick off their season with a home game against Frostburg State on Monday, November 4th. This match marks the beginning of a 16-game non-conference schedule aimed at generating momentum with the help of an experienced backcourt.
Senior guard Will Thomas and graduate student guard Wynston Tabbs, both former All-MEAC second team selections, are expected to play pivotal roles under head coach Kevin Broadus. Their leadership will be vital as the team prepares for a demanding schedule leading into conference play.
Morgan’s early-season schedule is packed. After facing Mercyhurst at home on November 6th, the team will travel to Longwood in Farmville, Virginia, for a game on November 9th. Upon returning to Baltimore, they will host the University of the District of Columbia on November 12th and the New Jersey Institute of Technology on November 16th.
The Bears’ road trip starts on November 20th against North Carolina A&T and continues to Buffalo for a game against the University at Buffalo on November 22nd.
Local rivalries heat up in late November, starting with a home game against Towson University on November 24th, followed by an away game against UMBC on November 27th. These matchups will serve as important early-season challenges.
In December, Morgan opens with two home games against Central Pennsylvania College (December 1) and Cheyney University of Pennsylvania (December 4). The team will then travel to face Bowling Green (December 7) and Xavier University in Cincinnati (December 10). After one more home game against Campbell University (December 15), the Bears will conclude non-conference play with two tough away games against Iowa State on December 22 and the University of Minnesota on December 29.
These final non-conference contests are crucial for the Bears as they prepare for the upcoming conference schedule, which the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will announce in September.
