Mitchell Marsh has made headlines in the IPL 2025 season by matching an impressive record held by KL Rahul for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In just 12 matches this season, Marsh has tallied six half-centuries, becoming only the second LSG player to achieve this milestone after Rahul, who set the benchmark in 2022.
On May 22, during a match against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Marsh scored his sixth half-century, reinforcing his pivotal role in the team after being acquired for Rs 3.40 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Previously, during the 2022 IPL season, KL Rahul also managed six fifty-plus scores, marking a significant achievement for both players in LSG’s history.
In terms of half-centuries for LSG in a single IPL season, Marsh is closely followed by South Africa’s T20I captain Aiden Markram, who has secured five fifties in 13 matches this season.
Notably, Marsh’s performance has also propelled him over the 500-run mark for the season, placing him among the elite club of LSG players who have reached this milestone. As of now, Marsh sits at 530 runs, only behind Rahul’s record of 616 runs established in 2022.
