Missouri Football’s Thrilling Upset: Burden’s Heroics Propel Tigers to Victory

Luther Burden III played a pivotal role in helping No. 6/8 Missouri football secure a 27-21 victory over No. 24/NR Boston College on Saturday in front of a packed Memorial Stadium in Columbia. The Tigers, now 3-0, showcased Burden’s impressive skills in a crucial moment of the game.

With time running out in the first half and Missouri trailing by a touchdown, Burden executed a spectacular 19-yard touchdown run, skillfully dodging defenders to tie the game. Following this, Missouri opted for a two-point conversion, which was successfully completed by Nate Noel.

This touchdown came after safety Tre’Vez Johnson intercepted a risky pass from BC quarterback Thomas Castellanos, marking a turning point in the game. Placekicker Blake Craig added to the momentum by kicking a 55-yard field goal to give Missouri the lead at halftime. Brady Cook opened the second half with a dynamic rushing touchdown, extending Missouri’s advantage.

Despite facing some challenges from Boston College, including a 67-yard touchdown pass to Reed Harris and another touchdown that highlighted lapses in Missouri’s defense, the Tigers managed to maintain control of the game after Burden’s pivotal score.

Cook completed 21 of 30 passes for 264 yards and one touchdown, while Burden garnered six receptions totaling 117 yards and a touchdown, further solidifying his impact on the game.

Overall, this victory represents a significant achievement for Missouri as they continue their undefeated streak this season.
