Kada Scott, a 23-year-old nursing assistant from Philadelphia, has been missing for nearly a week after last being seen on October 4. Authorities have charged 21-year-old Keon King with kidnapping in connection with her disappearance. Despite the arrest, the search for Scott is ongoing as police emphasize their commitment to locating her alive.

Scott was last seen by her mother before leaving for work at a nursing home, where she reportedly arrived but left before her shift ended. The circumstances surrounding her departure raise concerns, particularly as her family reported she had been receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown individual in the days before she went missing. Her vehicle was recovered in the parking lot of the nursing home, albeit without her in it.

John M. Stanford, the first deputy commissioner for field operations at the Philadelphia Police Department, stated that the primary focus remains on finding Scott. He declared, “The No. 1 priority is locating Ms. Scott.” The police department is taking the investigation very seriously, with the Homicide Unit now involved, although they have clarified that they are not treating it as a homicide case.

Kada’s father, Kevin Scott, expressed hope for his daughter’s safe return, stating, “It’s been difficult, extremely difficult. We keep faith that she’s OK and she’s going to be with us as soon as possible.” This sentiment resonates with the community, highlighting the collective eagerness for positive news amid the troubling circumstances.

Authorities continue to urge anyone with information about Scott’s whereabouts to come forward, as they work tirelessly to bring her home safely. The ongoing investigation and the family’s strong sense of hope serve as reminders of the resilience of both individuals and families during times of uncertainty.
